Dreamy Weddings Brochure

Belize Weddings

Belize (pronounced BEL-eez) is located on the eastern coast of Central America, with scenic Caribbean beaches in the east of the country and dense rainforest jungle in the west. A mecca for divers, the Belize Barrier Reef is dotted with hundreds of low-lying islands called 'cayes,' which play host to a rich diversity of marine life.

Belize is also home to the ancient ruins and fascinating culture of the Mayan people, who populated the country many, many centuries ago.

From the moment you arrive in Belize – whether you're on an adventure or planning a special Dreamy Wedding – the warmth and hospitality of the people will captivate you. The language, traditions and customs are varied, representing more than eight diverse cultures as far back as the Maya, and for generations, the people of Belize have demonstrated a cultural commitment to preserve the country’s unique charms.

With spectacular terrain, pristine coral reefs and fascinating historical sites, Belize is the perfect place to get away from it all and celebrate a truly unique Dreamy Wedding.

Belize Weddings: Flights

Commercial airlines land at the Phillip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) in Ladyville, just minutes from Belize City, and there are many convenient daily flights and connections from the USA. You can also choose to cruise to Belize and celebrate your Dreamy Weddings ceremony.

Belize Weddings: Hotels

With everything from luxury resorts, family-friendly hotels, vacation rentals, condominiums, guesthouses, campgrounds and live-aboard vessels, whatever your idea of getting away from the world, Belize has your Dreamy Wedding covered.

Belize Weddings: Venues

Dreamy Weddings’ favourite venues for Belize weddings are quite a contrast. Probably the most popular beach is Belizean Beach, close to the capital city, Belmopan, where you can enjoy the white sand between your toes and the crystal green waters of the Caribbean. The Mayan’s mystical, magical ruins, like the amazing temple at Xunantunich, also offer couples a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable venue for your Dreamy Wedding.

Belize Weddings: Garifuna

The Garifuna are descended from escaped Carib Indians who were deported from St. Vincent to Central America in 1802 by the British when they conquered that island. The Garifunas kept themselves apart from the Belizean social system, leading to a distinctive culture that developed throughout the 20th century, including a unique form of folk music and dance encompassing many styles. It features drums which are typically made of hollowed-out hardwood such as mahogany or mayflower, with the skin of a wild boar, deer or sheep, and sisera or shakers made from the dried fruit of a gourd tree and filled with seeds.

Belize Bio-diversity

Belize is known for its extreme biodiversity and distinctive ecosystems. The northern coastal plain is rich with mangroves and in the south and interior there are hills and low mountains. The country is a part of the Mesoamerican biodiversity hotspot and it has many jungles, wildlife reserves, a large variety of different species of flora and fauna and the largest cave system in Central America, so there are many eco-friendly activities and excursions to experience during your Dreamy Weddings vacation.

Belize Weddings: Requirements

Belize’s requirements for wedding ceremonies are straightforward and easy to follow, so couples can spend time enjoying the charm of the country as they await their big day.
