Belize Wedding Venues
Dreamy Weddings’ favourite venues in Belize are quite a contrast. Probably the most popular beach is Belizean Beach, close to the capital city, Belmopan, where you can enjoy the white sand between your toes and the crystal green waters of the Caribbean. The Mayan’s mystical, magical ruins, like the amazing temple at Xunantunich, also offer couples a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable venue for your Dreamy Wedding.
The Garifuna are descended from escaped Carib Indians who were deported from St. Vincent to Central America in 1802 by the British when they conquered that island. The Garifunas kept themselves apart from the Belizean social system, leading to a distinctive culture that developed throughout the 20th century, including a unique form of folk music and dance encompassing many styles. It features drums which are typically made of hollowed-out hardwood such as mahogany or mayflower, with the skin of a wild boar, deer or sheep, and sisera or shakers made from the dried fruit of a gourd tree and filled with seeds.
Belize is known for its extreme biodiversity and distinctive ecosystems. The northern coastal plain is rich with mangroves and in the south and interior there are hills and low mountains. The country is a part of the Mesoamerican biodiversity hotspot and it has many jungles, wildlife reserves, a large variety of different species of flora and fauna and the largest cave system in Central America, so there are many eco-friendly activities and excursions to experience during your Dreamy Weddings vacation.
