Corri Skinner (29 and an advertising product manager) and Mike Levine (34 and a lead developer) met at work and could only keep their relationship a secret for a couple of weeks until coworkers caught them kissing at a Christmas party. Two days before Corri’s birthday, Mike presented Corri with a luxurious pair of shoes to represent Corri’s accomplished goal of “making it” in New York City. As he got down on one knee to slip a shoe on to her foot, Mike talked about reaching a new goal and pulled out a ring box. As Corri caught on to what was happening, she immediately said “yes” — about 52 times. “To this day, I still have no idea what Mike planned on saying or if I was answering a particular question,” says Corri.
The couple decided a destination wedding was their best option, since their families would already be traveling. They chose to host their sunset ceremony and reception at the Pink Plantation House in Castries, St. Lucia, for its character and sweeping views of the capital city and ocean, and their oceanside wedding was perfectly captured by Belle Portwe. Shades of blue and purple hydrangeas inspired the color palette, which Corri matched with her wedding dress. “My favorite part was getting 40 of our closest friends and family to hang out with us on an island for several days,” says Corri. Throughout the trip, Corri and Mike took pictures with each of their guests and framed the photos for everyone to take home as a personalized keepsake.
